VMware is an excellent concept of virtualization.
we can run multiple virtual machines on one physical machine.
In the figure below it can be seen three
machines are running.
WinXP, Win Visat and Winserver 2008 in virtual environment

Allocation of resources such as memory, hard disk capacity,
network adopter settings etc of each virtual machine is done in VMware setting option.

Making the separate copy of operating system
Turn off the virtual machine. We can’t make the clone if
virtual machine is in running state.

Practice
In order to made the clone of windows XP first shutdown the windows XP.
Click Start then select option Shutdown
Virtual machine is turned off
Go to tool bar click VM then Click the option Clone
Select the type of clone
Click Next
Click the full clone option in order to made independent
copy of OS
Click next
Give path where copy of OS will create then Click Finish
Cloning is done successfully
Verification
Clone of windows XP is formed at given destination.
