SERVER CONFIGURATION TO USE AS ADC

Additional Domain Controller  or Backup domain controller is use to keep the copy of all AD activities.
Changes in Primary Controller reflect in Additional DC and vice versa.
Additional DC is different then the Child Domain and Read Only Domain(RODC) controllers.
In case of failure of Primary Domain Controller Additional domain controller act as backup domain and is use as primary domain controller after transferring the roles and functions from Primary DC to Additional DC. 

PC1 is Primary(main) Domain controller let’s make another server as PC2 which must be accessible by PC1 and be member of domain.

As PC1 have IP Address      192.168.1.1
Lets give PC2   192.168.1.2

Setting up the IP Address of PC2(Server 2)
Control PanelàNetwork Sharing CentreàManage Network Connection



Right Click on the LAN connection and Click the Properties



Select the TCP/IP V4 and click the properties




Enter the manual IP Addresses and Primary Domain controller IP Address
Click OK

Setting Up the Name of PC2 (Server 2)
Right Click on my computerà Click the propertiesà



Click Change Setting  






Name the Server as PC2 then Click More




Enter the domain Name as abc.com to join the domain and click the box



Now enter the administrator username and password of PC1(Domain controller) to join the domain



Domain abc.com is joined successfully



And restart the server to take changes in to effect.

Verification

On PC1(DC) 

RunàCMDàping the 192.168.1.2



PC1 is successfully connected to PC2

Check DNS of PC1(DC)
Startàadministrative toolàDNSàPC1(Server name)à Forward Lookup zone







PC2 (Server Operating System) is added in DNS of Primary DC (PC1).
